Abstract
Studying participation in the general sense and women's political participation in a specific sense in any society requires attention to its deep social, cultural, economic and political layers. The purpose of the current research is to sociologically investigate the factors and obstacles affecting women's political participation in Tehran.
It is a descriptive-correlational research type and applied in terms of purpose, cross-sectional in terms of time and quantitative in nature (survey). The field of study was the city of Tehran as the capital of Iran and 400 women of the city of Tehran who were selected by a two-stage cluster sampling method.
The findings showed that political participation is the same among women of different age groups and there is no difference between them, but women with higher income, working women and women with higher education have more political participation. Also, there is a significant and inverse relationship between social, cultural, managerial, political, economic and psychological barriers with the political participation of women in Tehran, and according to the results of the structural rates model, these factors and barriers are able to account for 16% of the variance of women's political participation. explain The results of the research indicate that as social barriers, managerial-political barriers, spiritual-psychological barriers, economic barriers and cultural barriers are reduced, political participation among women is facilitated and grows.
