Explaining the Role of Gender in Education from the Perspective of Postmodern Ontology and Critiquing It from an Islamic Viewpoint

Abstract
The aim of the present research is to elucidate the role of gender in postmodern education based on an ontological framework and to critique it from the perspective of Islamic ontology. This research has been conducted using an explanatory, analytical, and critical method. The results of the study revealed that postmodernist perspectives lead to the denial of gender, the ontological differences between genders, and gender roles. Postmodernism's opposition to binary gender differences culminates in a diversity of gender identities, yet when it comes to providing foundations for sexual education, it opts for a form of homogeneity. In contrast, Islam advocates for the acceptance of the reality of gender and the ontological differences between genders. From an ontological standpoint, Islam specifies the certainty of similarities between women and men in certain dimensions, while also emphasizing gender justice by acknowledging differences in three areas: talents, laws, and roles of men and women. From an Islamic perspective, postmodern education, which disregards gender differences, not only disrupts the formation of a unified human identity from individual, familial, and social aspects but also creates conditions conducive to ethical issues.
