Phenomenological investigation of the factors related to the choice of the type of covering in teenagers with low hijab

Abstract

The aim of the current research was to investigate the phenomenological factors related to the choice of the type of covering in teenagers who do not wear hijab. The research population includes all young girls who do not wear the hijab in one of the foreign language education centers in Kashan, who were studying in 1402, and 11 of them were selected in a targeted manner for this research. The research method was phenomenology, and the data was collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed with the 7-step Claesian method. The results indicated the extraction of 4 main themes and 12 secondary themes. The main themes are: social factors (1- social norms, 2- compliance with society custom and fashion, 3- environmental and geographical factors, 4- social judgment, 5- social security, 6- religious significance), individual factors (1- The framework of society, 2- Fashionism and modernity of clothing, 3- Fashionism and modernity of clothing, 4- View and attitude of society, 5- Dangers of society, urban context and air, 6- Attention to Sharia and beliefs), individual factors (1- Feeling of comfort, 2- personal choice, 3- attention to beauty), family factors (1- family cover, 2- family persuasion and tenderness), media (1- virtual space).Considering the obtained results, it seems that one of the most important missions of cultural centers and policymakers in the matter of veiling and hijab is to explain this phenomenon as best as possible to the young generation of the society.
