Abstract

Work as one of the forms of human behavior has gained meaning in the form of life culture and the history of human life shows the importance of work and choosing a job. The process of choosing a job begins years before the end of high school education and continues until choosing a real job. Therefore, the present research has examined the understanding of the formation of career aspirations of teenage girls in Yazdi. The current research method is qualitative and the researcher looks for the underlying causes of girls' job expectations and their obstacles. In this study, the researcher interviewed 15 teenagers who were in the stage of choosing a major, and the age range of the participants was 15-16 years (9th and 10th grade). Then, using open, central and selective coding, the findings were analyzed and processed. The findings were presented in the form of 12 main categories, including structural walls, compassionate patronage, virtual hegemony, justice-avoidance platforms, fences in limited habits, inefficient educational system, and job burnout. The core category titled fear of job failure was extracted and based on that paradigm model and background theory were presented.
